An ethical approach to business…

Not so long ago, UAP and Tradelocks promised to continue to offer high quality products at sensible prices and to continue giving back to the community, and to the world at large by offering “quality products that don’t cost the earth”.

We have built a name for quality, reliability and service – but we want our company name to stand for more. That is why we are dedicated to making a positive difference to our world – in our home town, country and across the globe!

We work with suppliers and customers around the world and believe that we have a responsibility to reduce our impact upon the environment and have been officially confirmed as having offset all of our carbon emissions by the UK registered charity ‘Plant-a-Tree-Today.org’. We have also funded the planting of over 56,000 trees over the course of a three year reforestation project. The forest will enable the reintroduction of many endangered and native wildlife. As staff, we are also committed to helping the environment and the majority of company cars are now environmentally friendly hybrids.

By teaming up with local charity, DCWC Nepal, we have helped to build four much needed community schools in Nepal – one of the poorest countries in the world – and are just about to start working on our 5th school! Before the scheme, children as young as five had to endure an exhausting four hour walk to and from school, before starting their seven hour school day. We worked closely with Sean Wilson (best known as Martin Platt from ITV’s Coronation Street) as he opened the schools on our behalf, and the scheme has given over 1000 children the opportunity to learn.

The Japan tsunami and earthquake disaster was distressing news to everyone, and a sum of money was donated on behalf of UAP and Tradelocks to the Red Cross. It was unfortunate we could not do more, but we have real faith in the hard work of everyone who is helping to rebuild Japan and our thoughts are with everyone affected.

Our latest charity work took form in our participation of ‘Twitrelief’ and we proudly won the bids for Kate Garraway (entertainment editor of Daybreak, and founder of the discount website goodypass.com) and David Morrissey (actor and director) to ‘super follow’ @UAPLimited on Twitter. This means that not only did we contribute a large amount of money to Comic Relief – so they can continue to help communities in real need across the UK and the world’s poorest countries – but we will also be raising awareness through these high profile celebrities (and their collective amount of Twitter followers of almost 50,000 people) of the security and locksmithing industry.

Kate Garraway mentioned us to her 37,000+ followers!
